Jamie Lee Curtis is planning a “nice” and “long” break from social media.
In a recent conversation with E! News onet the world debut of her new film Ella McCayon December 9, the Oscar-winning actress revealed in Los Angeles that she will be leaving the internet for the upcoming holidays.
“I’m about to go on a really long, nice digital detox,” Curtis told the outlet. “I’m going to do a digital detox and be without the internet or social media for a while.”
The 67-year-old actress said she is “very excited” to visit countries like Denmark and Australia as these countries have banned social media for children under 16.
“It’s incredible that they do that,” she explained. “I support it 110 percent, so I have to practice what I preach.”
Curtis shared why she personally uses social media and the reason behind her digital detox: “I use it solely for my work and to support the work of others. But I need to take a break. So at the end of the year I’m letting that go.”
“I shout when people succeed or when really positive things happen. People have worked hard on something and then they get that opportunity, I will always shout for them,” she added.
Ella McCay is all set to hit theaters on December 12.
