Bad Bunny falls on stage in Mexico City

Bad Bunny received warm support from the audience on Wednesday after a fall during a performance.

The 31-year-old Grammy winner, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, performed live and danced to his song Effect when he slipped. As he sat down for a moment, the audience ensured the performance continued uninterrupted.

Fan videos show the crowd singing along until he got back on his feet and continued singing. He later shouted out the crowd’s support.

The fall comes two months before Bad Bunny headlines the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, 2026.

Bad Bunny’s selection to headline the Super Bowl Halftime also drew criticism from some conservatives for performing exclusively in Spanish.

He addressed the controversy in October while hosting Saturday Night Live.

“I’m very happy, and I think everyone is happy about it, even Fox News,” he joked, as clips from the network were edited to say, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.”

He continued, “But actually, I’m really excited to be in the Super Bowl, and I know that people around the world who love my music are happy too.”

In Spanish, he added: “Especially all the Latinos and Latinas in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a victory for myself, it’s a victory for all of us. Our footprints and our contributions in this country… no one will ever be able to take that away or erase that.”

He ended his monologue with a smile. “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn.”
