Jamie Campbell Bower was “terrified” about Mr. Whatsit to play Stranger things season 5.
Season 5 of the series focuses on Holly, the younger sister of Mike and Nancy Wheeler. Mr. Whatsit enters the show as a figure that Holly continues to see and talk to.
“It was a really fun experience, but I was also quite scared of it because I didn’t necessarily see Whatsit in Henry,” he said. People.
“They’re not really the same, so it definitely felt like I was building something new,” he added of Mr. Whatsit, who earns children’s trust through his kind and loving demeanor.
The new season follows Henry’s pursuit of Holly and her classmates, twelve of whom he successfully kidnaps and turns upside down.
This meant that Bower worked a lot with children this season.
‘Children see through the bull. They know,” he said. “They just know when you’re being real with them. It’s really scary to sit there in front of someone and say, ‘Are you lying to me?'”
In another interview with Term, the actor revealed that creators Matt and Ross Duffer will be Mr. Whatsit developed after season 4 ended.
“Towards the end of filming the Henry portion of season four, Matt and Ross [Duffer] said, ‘This was great. We always wanted to bring you back as Vecna, but now we feel like we have to bring you back more as yourself.” and I just thought, ‘Cool. Sounds great. Whatever you guys want,’” Bower recalled.
“So as far as the storyline goes, none of it was pitched to me, and I think it was… something that developed in the intervening time,” he added.
Stranger things season 5 volumes 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix. The final takes place on New Year’s Eve.
