Marcello Hernandez shares future on ‘Saturday Night Live’: ‘It’s a crazy job’

Marcello Hernandez has no plans to give up his Saturday Night Live characters, especially fan favorite Domingo.

During a recent conversation with E! News on the 2026 red carpet Critics’ Choice Awards on January 4, the 28-year-old comedian offered reassurance about his plan to stay on the comedy sketch show: “I’m there, I’m there, I’m there,”

Marcello admitted that he is loving his time on the long-running show. He said: “I’m having fun, mate. It’s a crazy job and you meet so many crazy people and I love it.”

When fellow cast member Bowen Yang said his final farewell to the show, Marcello paid tribute to him, saying, “I look at it as a sport. That’s a guy who put up numbers. Consistent, always putting up big sketches and he had a distinct voice, and everyone loves him.”

“It’s for a reason,” he added. “He’s a hard worker, I saw him grinding behind the scenes every week. He’s definitely a guy to learn from,” he explained.

While sharing his excitement at the ceremony, Marcello said he’s excited to meet his favorite people.

“I saw Rhea [Seehorn] from Pluribus, shocked, my whole family is sitting there now. Everyone, dude. It’s funny, if you watch all these shows, my mom watches serials. So I try to take some selfies for her,” he said, adding: “I get it done.”
