Prince Harry relationship with King Charles ‘not straightforward,’ says expert

Relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles ‘not easy’, says expert

Prince Harry’s recent trip to Britain will not involve a meeting with Royals, an expert says.

The Duke of Sussex, who arrived in Britain on Sunday for his Supreme Court hearing on taxpayer-funded security benefits, will not reunite with brother Prince William and father King Charles.

Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “It should be such a simple relationship: father and son, reunited from time to time, even though they live on different continents. But it is absolutely NOT simple. It is a relationship full of complexity.

‘We know from Harry’s book that Charles strongly disagrees with his son about pursuing – and denouncing – the tabloid press. The king believes that he and the rest of the family in general should just rise above it and get on with their lives and work. Harry has made it a crusade to ‘reform’ the British press.

‘So it is perhaps coincidental that Charles will probably be in Scotland as usual in January when Harry flies back from California to face Associated Newspapers in court. William and Catherine also have engagements in Scotland, so the boundaries are clearly drawn. Harry will be focusing on his court case and there’s a good chance he won’t see his father – or of course his brother – during this trip.
