Adrien Brody recently reflected on making his Broadway debut.
The 52-year-old American actor will make his debut on a Broadway show The fear of 13 alongside Tessa Thompson, who chronicles the real-life journey of Nick Yarris, a man who spent more than twenty years on death row before being exonerated by DNA evidence.
Brody will play Yarris, while Thompson will play Jackie, a volunteer who visits the inmate behind bars.
In 1982, Yarris was sent to prison on charges of rape and murder that he did not commit. However, after spending 22 years behind bars, NDA declared his innocence and was eventually released from prison in 2004.
During a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, Brody revealed that he always dreamed of showing his acting skills in a theater in New York City.
He said: “I started doing theater as a teenager before I got any real film work, … so it’s been a long journey. It’s a dream again [come true] to reach Broadway.”
“I just love the intimacy of theatre, so it’s all very exciting,” says the King Kong star mentioned, who stars in a Super Bowl LX commercial for TurboTax.
Professionally, Brody has worked in films, among other things The Pianist, Detachment, Predators, Splice, The Village, Jacket, and others.
