Gracie Abrams follows ‘Kylie Jenner playbook’ with Paul Mescal romance

Paul Mescal, Gracie Abrams’ PDA, called ‘performative’ by body language expert

Paul Mescal and his girlfriend Gracie Abrams have taken a leaf out of Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet’s book.

Paul and Gracie made their red carpet debut at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards in London on Sunday evening. The couple followed that up with PDA-filled moments at the awards ceremony.

The exhibition highlighted Theri first for keeping their relationship out of the spotlight since they started dating in 2024.

According to body language expert Judi James, their PDA seemed performative.

“Everything about their red carpet rituals here seems specifically designed to announce this as a serious and romantic relationship, with a nod from at least one of the couples suggesting a desire to launch as the new Hollywood power couple on the block,” Judi told the Daily mail.

“Their bodies roll together into poses at each camera spot, with Gracie’s torso turned inward and pressed close together in a ‘draping’ ritual that shows Paul as her hero of the night,” she continued.

“His hand with the fingers slightly spread rests on her buttocks in a casually sexy gesture,” she added.

Judi further noted that of the two, Gracie seemed to prefer PDA and that Paul wanted to act more naturally.

“Gracie’s body language is more ‘Kylie Jenner-style Hollywood,’ but Paul’s looks less elegant and performative and more recognisably casual and natural,” Judi said.

“Gracie seems eager to keep pecking kisses on his face during their red carpet poses and when she does a more fleeting, performative kiss, we see Paul’s lips purse as if he prefers a more down-to-earth look,” she continued.

“But there’s another moment where Gracie leans in and plants a more gifted kiss on his cheek and he gets the fan-girl signal with an asymmetrical grin at the camera from a man who just got lucky in love,” she added.
