George Clooney talks about his former friendship with President Donald Trump.
Speak with Variety On Tuesday, the 64-year-old actor revealed that he knew Donald “very well” during his early days in Hollywood.
“I knew him very well,” said the Oscar-winning actor. “He called me often and once tried to help me get to a hospital to see a back surgeon. I often saw him at clubs and in restaurants.”
The Jay Kelly The star went on to tell the outlet that Donald’s attitude changed when politics entered his life.
“He’s a big weirdo,” George said. “Well, he was. That all changed.’
The Wolfen star believes that the United States is currently struggling during Trump’s presidency.
“It’s a very difficult time,” George explained. “It can depress you or make you very angry. But you have to find the most positive way through it.”
“You have to put your head down and keep moving forward because giving up is not an option,” the actor added.
His comments came a day after France officially granted him citizenship, along with his wife Amal and their two children.
