The fact that Kanye West is facing a ban in Britain and a possible ban from the upcoming show in Marseille, France, has raised questions about the status of his concert in India.
However, an organizer insists Ye’s much-anticipated show in New Delhi on May 23 will still go ahead.
Aman Kumar, one of the founders of the company White Fox, which is organizing the event, told The Independent: “Ye Live in India will take place at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on May 23.”
He continues: “It’s a one-night-only cultural moment, not just any concert, but one of the greatest live experiences the country has ever seen.” This is not just a tour stop. This is a moment of attunement.”
Behind the scenes, however, fans were nervous about the event.
The scare started after organizers pushed the original March date out of the blue, citing “geopolitical tensions.”
In addition, the French Minister of the Interior is considering ways to close West’s concert in Marseille on June 11.
According to Libération, a French daily, the minister is exploring all options to prevent Ye from taking the stage.
The possible ban comes after Britain pulled the plug on the Grammy winner’s performance at the Wireless Festival in London.
