Niall Horan commemorates his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne with his music.
The 32-year-old Irish singer-songwriter and musician has released a new song titled End of an era from the upcoming album Dinner party on Friday, May 22.
It was a tribute to the late singer Payne, who died in October 2024 at the age of 31.
Horan sings in the first verse, “We had it, pure magic / Remember how it was / Time goes by so fast that / I couldn’t say goodbye to you.”
“Careless times, yeah, we definitely had some / Naive eyes, yeah, we sure looked young / Tears falling down like the future is coming / Slowly, then all at once. It feels like letting go / Things we’re not allowed to do / One breath and it’s over / The end of an era,” the Best song ever hitmaker sings.
In March this year, GQ hype interviewed Horan, admitting that he had channeled his grief over the loss of his great friend End of an era.
“[There are] memories that only he and I can share, because you have a team and always have people around you. But we have always said that only we have that experience, no one else has,” he joked.
It is pertinent to mention that Liam Payne died after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony at the CasaSur Hotel in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, 2024.
Dinner party is Niall Horan’s fourth studio album, due out on June 5, 2026.
