Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are giving couples big goals with their summer plans.
The couple will spend the summer together on the road as Wilson embarks on her Sound of a Woman concert tour across the United States.
Speaking to People Magazine at the premiere of the new Broadway show Celebrity Autobiography on Monday, Hanks said, “I’m proud. I’m entertained. I’m gasping for air and often I stay home when she gets up and takes care of business.”
However, Wilson spoke about the summer plans, saying: “He comes in and out when I’m on tour, so we’ll see each other then.”
And when asked about upcoming travel plans, Hanks asked, “Is that us?” and added, “Okay. I do what I’m told.’
“She’s on tour; when she’s on tour, I’m not working,” he added.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson met in 1981 on the set of Bosom Buddies. But they later reconnected and made their relationship public in 1996. The couple then tied the knot in 1988.
Previously, Wilson spoke about their marriage and said one of the main foundations of their relationship is a shared bathroom. She said, “That’s where you download everything.”
“That’s where you download the day. You laugh about what you’re doing. In the morning you think about, ‘What are you going to do today? Where are you going to be? Great, I want you there,” Wilson added.
She also noted that they “never go to bed crazy.”
“I heard that early on, and I thought, ‘That’s actually really good.’ You don’t want to wake up in the morning with that lingering feeling. So whatever it is, deal with it before you go to bed,” Wilson said.
