French tennis player Corentin Moutet has denied Danielle Collins’ claims following a public discussion at the Miami Open.
The controversy began when Collins, speaking to Tennis Channel, claimed that Moutet had “flirted” with her before his match.
During the interview, announcer Steve Weissman said, “He yelled at you, he yelled at you, he said, ‘Gimme this, let’s go.'”
Collins responded by describing her reaction: “I said, ‘If you’re going to flirt with me like that, you’re going to have to get a bigger serve.’ Some people think it comes down to height, some people think it comes down to personality, but what it really comes down to is big forehands and big serves.
She also claimed that Moutet contacted her privately, saying he “messaged me and then unfollowed me,” and later “slid into the DMs again last night,” according to her comments.
Moutet later dismissed the accusations on social media, writing on sports journalist.”
The exchange has attracted attention online, contributing to off-field headlines during the tournament.
