Daredevil: Born Again a surprise for the fans. Initially, the series dropped one episode of season one.
But now the show pulled off a shocker and dropped back-to-back, a rare move from Marvel, which usually releases an episode a week.
Yet Parade reports that there is partly a practical reason behind the decision. The sudden two-episode drop will pave the way for The Punisher: One Last Kill, starring Jon Bernthal as the brutal Frank Castle, arriving on May 12.
Both episodes lasted almost an hour and are titled Shoot the Moon and The Scales & the Sword.
Given this one-time move, the rest of the episodes will return to the original weekly release. Season two already has a whopping 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing season one’s stunning score.
Meanwhile, fans speculated whether The punisher would make an entry in season two.
But Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, recently delivered bad news for the gun-toting antihero.
“If Jon hadn’t been busy making his own hour-long Punisher movie and dealing with that bug, we definitely would have wanted him to join us in Season 2,” he said in a tweet.
The season two logline read: “Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.”
Daredevil: Born Againseason two, is streaming on Disney+.
