Jessica Simpson took the celebration to social media on Thursday, shortly after her sister Ashlee Simpson won The Masked Singereven if some viewers question the outcome.
Via Instagram Stories, Jessica wrote an emotional shoutout to Ashlee, sharing her pride about her sister’s milestone. “Being proud of you is my favorite feeling ever! I love you! Winner Winner Chicken Fried Steak Dinner!!!”
She continued in her note, “I’m so glad the world got to hear and experience you as I always have… in dominance mode of The Masked Singer. I love to love you!”
Ashlee was revealed as the face behind Galaxy Girl during the season 14 finale, beating out runner-up Phillip Phillips and other finalists including Kylie Cantrall and Normani.
However, the result sparked backlash online, with fans calling the runner-up more worthy of first place and accusing the show of being ‘rigged’.
“Kylie got robbed!!!!!!! This show is so rigged it’s sick!” one person wrote.
“Normani, Kylie or Philip Philips should have won smh,” said another person, while others called their own personal favorites worthy of the award.
Despite the criticism, Ashlee’s performances were better than Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U and Pink’s Attempt, won praise throughout the season.
Jessica had also appeared during the finale to provide a clue, prompting speculation before the official unmasking that it could be her own sister.
