Karol G recently revealed how music helped her find purpose in life during an acceptance speech at the 52nd American Music Awards.
On Monday, May 25, John Legend awarded the 35-year-old Colombian singer and songwriter the International Artist Award of Excellence.
After receiving the award, Karol began her speech: “Wow. What an honor, John, to have given me this award. It’s a legend. This will definitely be a legendary moment in my career.”
She continued, “I feel very grateful. First of all, thank you, God. He allowed me to have the most incredible, amazing experience of my life. I want to say that above all, this career has given me the most important thing in my life: purpose.”
“I found purpose through my music,” says the EL BARCO singer joked, adding that performing “a song” that becomes a “voice for many people” makes her “happy.”
“A healing place, a safe place, and I just think my life is meaningful because of my music and helping others through it,” she admitted.
It is pertinent to mention that Karol G switched to Spanish to end her speech by saying, “To all my fans around the world, I love you so much, thank you.”
