NFL viewers on Reddit had a field day after what they say was a scandalous drama that unfolded between Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini.
Soon the rumor mill on the social platform was running at full speed.
What happened was the head coach of the New England Patriots got a little cozy with NFL reporter Russini at an Arizona retreat.
Photos shared by Page Six show the duo having a warm conversation while holding hands and cuddling.
What sets tongues wagging is that they are both married to different people.
Those images went viral on social media, forcing the couple to make statements, albeit separately.
The head coach of the New England Patriots dismissed the rumors, saying the photos did not give the wrong impression.
“These photos show a completely innocent interaction, and any suggestion to the contrary is laughable,” he told the Post. “This deserves no further response.”
Far from making an outrageous statement, Russini also reiterated Vrabel’s strong emphasis on no wrongdoing, saying, “The photos do not represent the group of six people who hung out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters communicate with sources outside stadiums and other locations.”
However, some of the Reddit community wasn’t buying it.
“I wonder what his wife thinks,” said one user on a social media platform.
Another added: “Let him who has not held a woman’s hand in complete professionalism, hugged that woman, laid down next to the pool with that woman, and hung out in the pool with that woman, cast the first stone.” –Question 8:7, probably.”
“Patting and cheating. It’s just tradition at this point,” said a third.
Despite denials by Vrdall and Russini, parts of the Reddit community have taken their side.
