Nikki Glaser has recalled her ’embarrassing’ experience Dancing with the stars, I described it as “one of the most humiliating moments of my life.”
The 41-year-old actress, who appeared on the reality dance show with partner Gleb Savchenko in 2018, does not have fond memories of her time on DWTS.
“It really helped me because I realized that this was the most embarrassing thing that could happen. During the show, after my first dance, they tell you that the show is about believing in yourself,” Nikki said during an appearance on the Armchair expert with Dax Shepard podcast.
“If you don’t fall after the dance, say, ‘I did it, I’m a dancer.’ Say something like that. They’re basically telling you, “Be really family-friendly, be positive.” So they say, ‘How are you feeling?’ You know, Tom Bergeron,” she continued.
The comedian added, “I’m like, ‘I’m a dancer!’ And I said it so sarcastically… Len Goodman, the mean judge, said, ‘No, it isn’t. You looked like a struggling baby horse.” So mean.”
For those unfamiliar, Nikki and Gleb were the first celebrity couple to be eliminated in 2018.
“I knew I couldn’t dance when I signed up. But I didn’t really know. It was almost like I had never danced before, so I thought, ‘Maybe I’m great and I’ll figure it out.’ I didn’t even try to do anything before I showed up the first day,” she said.
The Not safe with Nikki Glaser alum admitted that she felt hurt and embarrassed by her early departure.
“One of the most humiliating moments of my life is being the first one voted off that show. It wasn’t just about being voted off because you’re a bad dancer, which was part of it,” Nikki says.
