Eddie Murphy is one of the few stars that Dave Chappelle looks up to. So it was no surprise when he took the stage to honor the legendary comedian; he had to give everything.
Starring with him The crazy professorChappelle praised his fellow comics partner, who received a prestigious gong at the 51st AFI Life Achievement Award.
“You were the hero I was worried about. Man, when you came up, it looked lonely. You were just alone. It was you, Michael Jackson, Rick James and Prince. They all died and somehow you survived,” he says.
However, Chappelle didn’t stop there.
The comedian shares that he has made Murphy an offer to join him for a possible reboot of his hit Chappelle show.
“In the middle of the conversation, Eddie was the one who said, ‘Man, you should do a Chappelle’s Show movie or something.’ And I said, ‘Man, that would be hard. That’s your brother. ”
“So Eddie, if I do it, man, do the Charlie parts and let’s go,” Chappelle recalled, referring to Murphy’s late older brother Charlie, who had been a major part of the show.
