Denise Richards is reportedly heartbroken over the sudden death of her ex, Patrick Muldoon.
For those unfamiliar: Patrick died on Sunday, April 19, of a sudden heart attack. He was 57.
Now, the Daily mail reports that Denise, who dated the actor for about five years in the late 1990s, is taking Patrick’s shocking death extremely hard.
“She’s devastated. Really, really sad,” a source close to the actress told the publication. “I would even call her inconsolable.”
“She can’t stop crying,” the confidant added.
Denise had known Patrick since she was a teenager. According to the outlet, the Spaceship Troopers actress was only 19 years old when she met Patrick at an acting class. The two remained close friends until his death.
“Patrick is the ex she had the best relationship with,” the source said. “There was a lot of respect from both sides.”
“It was so amicable that they were better friends than lovers and kept in touch all the time. She was his biggest supporter, he was hers,” a tipster added.
In October 2025, Patrick opened up about his close bond with Denise during his appearance at Tori Spelling’s SPELLING podcast.
“Neither of us come from entertainment families, and our families have gotten to know each other over the years and have reached out to each other about navigating the crazy things we all experience,” he said.
