Reese Witherspoon has finally addressed the backlash over her stance on artificial intelligence.
On April 16, the 50-year-old actress posted a video on social media encouraging women to learn more about AI.
“The AI revolution has begun, and I need to learn as much as I can about AI and share it with all of you,” her Instagram caption read.
However, some followers criticized the actress’ comments.
Reese responded to the criticism on her Instagram Stories on Monday, writing, “Well, I think my Al post got people talking. To be clear, no one is paying me to talk about this. I’m just a curious human.”
The mother of three noted that her children are “learning about AI tools.”
“I know a lot of founders who do vibe coding, and I hear about people using Al in EVERY sector of business,” wrote the Big little lies actress.
Reese continued that she is “aware of the impact this could have on employment in so many sectors. I understand the environmental concerns. I care deeply about local communities. And I am concerned about the impending AGI [Artificial General Intelligence].”
“I don’t believe computers should replace humanity,” she added, advising her fans to “learn as much as they can about this technological revolution.”
