Billy Ray Cyrus showed love for his ex-wife Tish Cyrus.
As Tish celebrated her 59th birthday on May 13, Billy paid a heartfelt tribute on X (formerly Twitter).
The country singer shared an emotional video of himself performing his 2007 song Ready, set, don’t go on acoustic guitar as he reflects on two important women in his life: Tish and his late mother, Ruth Ann “Ruthie” Casto.
In the caption he wrote: “Two of the best mothers EVER were born on this day and tomorrow, my mother Ruthie on May 14th… and the mother who drove Miley down that driveway while I wrote the song ‘Ready Set Don’t Go’.”
‘Congratulations Tish. I wish you peace, love and happiness… forever,” Billy added.
It’s pertinent to mention that Ready, Set, Don’t Go took on particular significance for the Cyrus family after Billy Ray Cyrus recorded a duet version with daughter Miley Cyrus during the height of her Hannah Montana fame.
Billy and Tish Cyrus ended their marriage in 2022 after nearly three decades together. They share five children. Since their divorce, both have publicly moved on as Tish married Dominic Purcell in 2023 and Billy tied the knot with Firerose before starting a relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley last year.
