Dolly Parton is reportedly struggling with loneliness during her recovery period and missing close friend Reba McEntire.
Insiders told Radar Online that the country music icon “went crazy” while recovering at her Tennessee home and wished she could spend more time with McEntire.
However, McEntire’s busy schedule makes regular visits difficult. She’s currently busy balancing film commitments on Happy’s Place and her relationship with fiancé Rex Linn.
An insider said: ‘In an ideal world, McEntire would come over to see Parton every day, or at least a few times a week. But she is up to her eyes with her own obligations.”
“Her schedule is absolutely packed! She travels all over the country and barely gets out. She is constantly exhausted,” she added.
The source revealed that McEntire barely manages to call or text Parton, saying, “They hang out when Reba has time when she’s around. But it’s just not logistically possible for them to arrange much, if any, face time. Plus, Dolly has been snowed in during this long winter.”
“Dolly sees her caregivers, her sisters and other local friends. But there is no substitute for seeing old friends, especially Reba, who is like her twin sister,” the source said.
Adding that Dolly Parton misses Reba McEntire “terribly” and wishes they could find a way to hang out.
