Victoria Beckham recently celebrated her father’s 80th birthday with a large family gathering attended by much of the extended Beckham family.
Photos shared online showed several family members together for the occasion, including David Beckham and their children. However, the couple’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were once again noticeably absent from this celebration after more than a year of estrangement.
Around the same time, Peltz shared photos and videos of a salon visit on Instagram. “My best friend took me to the salon,” she wrote in the caption, referring to Brooklyn who was within the camera frame. The uploads captured her hair transformation and also included pink roses seemingly gifted by her husband.
The posts quickly sparked criticism, with some social media users questioning why the couple seemed to spend almost all their time together.
“Do you do everything with your husband? Do you have friends?” wrote one commenter.
A second person wrote, “Great, but do you ever let him be his own person and do his own thing. Or let him contact his parents,” to which another user replied, “or his grandpa on his 80th birthday…”
The criticism continued when another wrote: “Girl, is there nothing you do alone or without your man? They’re practically glued to each other.’
The ongoing tensions between Brooklyn and the Beckham family are now more than a year old. Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot in 2022 in a high-profile wedding in Florida, which became a source of conflict between the bride and the groom’s mother. Brooklyn eventually parted ways with his parents and siblings to support his wife.
