Paula Abdul has been on cloud nine since Meghan Markle gave a shout-out to her song Your girl forever.
On Prince Harry and Meghan’s eighth wedding anniversary, the Duchess of Sussex used Paula’s iconic 1989 song on her Instagram Story to mark her relationship milestone with the Duke of Sussex.
Paula, who has always been a fan of the former actress, said at the 2026 American Music Awards on May 25 that she was stunned to discover Meghan used her song.
“I was in shock and I was so moved,” Paula said E News.
“I never take anything for granted in my career, I never have. And so I’m always humbled when little gems like this appear in my life. It’s very moving.”
When Paula saw her music on Meghan’s Stories on social media, she quickly clicked the reshare button and reposted to her Instagram Story.
“I just sent her back,” Paula said, praising Meghan and Harry’s unseen wedding photography. “Such beautiful photos and thank you so much for using my song.”
Indeed, on May 19, Meghan posted the never-before-seen photo of her and Harry from their wedding, which took place in 2019, with the caption: “Eight years ago today.”
Harry and Meghan also welcomed two children: daughter Lilibet, four, and son Archie, seven.
