Victoria Beckham swears by the medical benefits of apple cider vinegar after consuming most mornings in replacement of coffee.
In addition, culinary use, the brew of fermented crushed fermented apples, yeast and sugar has also established itself as a universal remedy for multiple ailments.
According to a new study published in the magazine BMJ Nutrition, Prevention and Health, religious consumption of the citrus drink resulted in a significant decrease in body weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) in a group of overweight people.
Further research is required to confirm which ingredient of the drink is responsible for the weight loss, but Rony Abou-Khalil, from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik in Lebanon, and the main author of the research, said that the results suggested that the vinegar could be used as an intervention for weight loss.
Various professors involved in the study provided no equipment of the extensive effectiveness of apple cider vinegar, since the experiment was carried out on a small sample.
However, every other day there are several other benefits to drinking apple cider vinegar.
1. Antibacterial effects:
As a natural preservative, vinegar can promote the killing of pathogens in the body or prevent them from multiplying.
2. Manage diabetes:
Type 2 diabetes is a life -threatening condition characterized by high blood sugar levels caused by insulin resistance in the body.
According to several studies, the consumption of apple cider vinegar helps to improve insulin function and to manage blood sugar levels after meals.
3. Improving the health of the heart:
Vinegar also helps to maintain levels of lipoprotein with a high density, lipoprotein with low density, triglycerides and total cholesterol levels, according to a study conducted in people and animals in 2020.
4. Good for the skin:
Its acidic nature helps to reinstall the natural pH of the skin in people with dry skin conditions such as eczema.
The diluted version of apple cider vinegar is also used in a facial wax or toner, which activates the disinfecting effect.
All in all, apple cider vinegar is a powerhouse with benefits with few to no known side effects, so it would certainly not hurt to lick it occasionally.
