‘The Wedding Planner’ star Judy Greer remembers Matthew McConaughey’s kind gesture

Judy Greer reflects on her time with Matthew McConaughey on set The Wedding Planner.

For those who don’t know, The Wedding Planner, a 2001 romantic comedy, is about a wedding planner, Mary Fiore (played by Jennifer Lopez), who begins to believe she has found true love when she is rescued by the handsome McConaughey character, Steve Edison, but things take a dark turn when she finds out he is her client’s fiancé.

Greer, who played the supporting role of Penny Nicholson in the film, reminisced about his time on set with McConaughey in a conversation with McConaughey. Entertainment tonight.

She said: ‘What I remember about that film was how beautiful [he] was. I loved seeing him with hair and makeup every morning because he had pajamas on and a Yerba Mate.

“I haven’t worked with him since, but I feel like not much has changed,” says the Death of winter said actress.

Greer, who already had a few acting gigs under her belt at the time, revealed that she was “so broke” at the time that she couldn’t get her car out of a valet when she first met the cast.

Thanks to McConaughey, who came to the rescue, as she joked, “Before we started shooting, we did a table read, and we did that at the Roosevelt Hotel [in New York City]and I parked my car. I didn’t know any better.”

It is relevant to mention that The long walk star “didn’t have enough money” when she took delivery of her car at the end of the day and called her boyfriend, Sean Gunn, to help.

“Matthew McConaughey heard me and gave me $20. I was so shocked, but I also thought ‘my hero,'” Judy Greer revealed.
