Eamonn Holmes gave viewers a heartbreaking glimpse into his ongoing health struggles during a live broadcast before he was abruptly interrupted by producers.

The 65-year-old presenter had spoken about the ongoing investigation into Peter Mandelson, who was caught urinating on the street in London.

Describing this segment, Eamonn drew on his own experience and revealed that due to his severe spinal problems, there are times when he just ‘can’t wait’ to go to the bathroom.

“I’m overcoming a medical condition and I just can’t wait,” he told his co-host Ellie Costello.

“And then (Mandelson) was on the street. But what else is the man to do? Knock on someone’s door and say, ‘Would you like to let me go and pee at your house?’

‘Most people will say: how dare you, I’m not going to do that. So I’m saying that in public there is a difficulty about where you actually go to relieve yourself. That’s the point.’

He then noted that producers urged him to quickly move on from the discussion, subtly slamming them for failing to approach the topic with more understanding and nuance.

“And as my producer says in my ear, the next giveaway is. They are clearly not interested in this dilemma or how it relates to my identification with it,” he said.
