‘Knives Out’ Director Is Excited About Glenn Close in ‘Wake Up Dead Man’

Glenn Close is a well-known name in the industry, so when she played the lead role Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out MysteryRian Johnson, the director, thought he might have been intimidated.

However, the opposite happened. The filmmaker tells People“But when she shows up on set, she’s not jaded. She’s not like an elder statesman. She’s like a little puppy who is so excited to do the work.”

It’s worth noting that Glenn plays Martha Delacroix, the church manager of Our Lady of Perpetual Fortitude in upstate New York.

She even stayed on set after her work day to observe the shooting, Rian recalls. “I remember we packed her up early one day.”

He continues, “And I started shooting a scene with Josh and Daniel. And we were blocking the scene there and I was backing up and I ran into someone and it was Glenn in her street clothes in the corner.”

“And she just stuck around. She could have gone home. She kept watching because she says, ‘I just want to look at these two actors and see how they approached this scene.’ And that is Glenn close,” Rian notes.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery hits theaters and streams on Netflix on December 12.
