Roberts Irwin revealed that he has started a campaign that his mother, Terri Irwin, can join Dancing with the stars.
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter On December 1, the dance professional told Terri what he thinks about becoming a member ABC series after her children, Robert and Bindi Irwin, took home the trophy.
It is pertinent to mention that Robert became the second person from the Irwin family to win the show. Bindi also took home the trophy in 2015.
“Listen, the petition to get my mom on Dancing With the Stars has started, and I started it,” Robert said jokingly.
“I started this season and she says firmly, ‘No, I’m not doing it. That’s not for me.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, I’m going to wear you out,'” he continued.
Robert said he will support his mother and thinks she can do “great” on the DWTS dance floor.
“So let’s wear her down and get her on there because I think she would be great,” he added.
Robert went on to explain that he never believed in himself that he could dance like his sister, but to their surprise, talent “had to come from somewhere.”
“Those dancing genes, I’m pretty sure they didn’t come from my dad,” he said of his late father, Steve Irwin.
“I mean, he was a very athletic person, but… [had] no rhythm. So I mean, I guess [we got them from my] mom. It must be so. I mean, it’s only fair, right? She has to do it,” he explained.
While you’re talking to E! News After his victory on November 25, Robert teased his mother’s possible participation DWTSjokingly: “More members of the Irwin-Carson family need to keep dancing.”
“I told Terri to do that,” Robert’s DWTS dance partner Witney Carson, added.
