Kristen Bell’s latest anniversary post has sparked outrage as many stated that she did not understand the sensitivity of domestic violence.
For those who don’t know, the 45-year-old American actress and singer, who tied the knot with Dax Shepard at the Beverly Hills courthouse on October 17, 2013, celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary this year.
On their anniversary, Bell made a post, also in a Domestic Violence Awareness Month, in which she jokingly wrote, “I would never kill you. Many men have killed their wives at some point. Even though I am strongly encouraged to kill you, I would never do that.”
According to Radaronline, her insensitive comment was sharply criticized as people questioned her understanding of the situation, and it attracted widespread attention because it took place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“What endeared her — the therapy talk, the confessions, the no-filter approach — now makes people cringe,” an insider told the outlet.
“Everything is being rehearsed now. Every post, every word. She is terrified of saying the wrong thing again,” the source said.
It is pertinent to mention that since the post went viral, Kristin Bell’s old posts are also raising concerns.
