Zoe Saldaña breaks her silence on Gen Alpha lingo

Zoe Saldaña breaks her silence on Gen Alpha jargon

Zoe Saldaña goes to great lengths to understand Gen Alpha, especially their language that has evolved dramatically.

Chat with PEOPLE magazine, the 47-year-old American actress highlighted the things that stood out to her from 2025, confessing that the widely popular phrase “6-7” among Gen Alpha was on her mind.

Saldaña was asked to share her favorite pop culture moment from the past year, to which she replied, “This whole 6-7 thing has been, oh God, an absolute anomaly. I’m just so hyper-focused on this Gen Alpha lingo, and I’m going to get it.”

The Avatar: Fire and Ashes star has also started using the word “aura,” which refers to a person’s “it factor or effortless coolness.”

“But every time I think I’m keeping my aura, I’m told I’ve lost it,” she said.

For those who don’t know, the meme appears to have originated from the song Does Does (6-7), sung by Skrilla and with repeated lyrics: “6-7.”

This phrase is notably meaningless; however, the association of this rhythmic repetition with the N.B.A player LaMelo Ball, who stands at 6 feet tall, has made him popular worldwide.

It is pertinent to mention that Zoe Saldaña is also the mother of three Gen Alpha boys, Cy, Bowie and Zen, whom she welcomed with her husband, Marco Perego.
