The rocky marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is central to the new documentary In whose name?Including an emotional phone call between the former couple after the 2018 visit from West to the White House.
In the images, Kardashian, 44, is heard that she tells the then man that she was deeply upset by the way he was observed.
“I can’t sleep. I cried all day. It’s just this bad dream that doesn’t end,” she says.
“You lose … everyone around you is as … there is a way to talk about what you feel. But if you are so dramatic …”
West, now 48, quickly pushed back and asked who she meant by ‘everyone’.
Kardashian clarified that she referred to people in the ‘music business’ and his professional circle.
The rapper replied: “I don’t care about the music company. I don’t care about the field. I am in a slave company. I am a slave to Universal. What are you talking about? Of course they lose.”
Kardashian went against and told him: “Just because you have a job and you work hard does not mean that you are a slave. That is humiliating because I work hard with brands that are similar to all of that.”
West then compared its own work with a “slaves” E!Kardashian replied: “That is not how I look at it, so I think you insult many people, including yourself, because they have given me a life that I could never have bid, and I am very grateful for that. And I am not about burning bridges with companies.”
As the conversation was tense, Kardashian warned: “You wake up one day and you will have nothing.”
West broke back: “No! Never tell me that one day I wake up and have nothing. Never place it in the universe.”
The documentary also shows West in a separate confrontation with Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner.
Kardashian and West, who started dating in 2012 and married in 2014, completed their divorce in 2021. They share four children together: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7 and Psalm, 6.
