Dmitry Kulikov returns from injured reserve as Schwindt hits IR

The Florida Panthers made roster moves ahead of their Panthers-Islanders game, activating defenseman Dmitry Kulikov from injured reserve and placing forward Cole Schwindt on IR on Sunday.

Kulikov, 35, has been sidelined since suffering an injury in the second game of the season. The veteran defender, who made his debut with Florida at 10 in 2009 before returning for a second stint, has played in two games without recording a point this season.

Last year he had 13 points in 70 games, surpassing the 1,000-game milestone.

Schwindt, now in his fourth NHL season, has four points in 22 games and 12 points in 71 appearances this year. Like Kulikov, he previously played for Florida before being re-acquired this offseason.

Florida has struggled with injuries all season. Aleksander Barkov missed the entire year due to a knee injury, and Matthew Tkachuk didn’t join the lineup until after the new year.
