Charlie Sheen has admitted that his drug use once got so far out of hand that even a human trafficking network established in Mexico refused to sell to him.
In an interview about Australia 60 minutesJournalist Amelia Adams seemed to be stunned when Sheen revealed,
“The cartel broke you off?” The two and a half men Star replied calmly: “They did, they did.”
According to Sheen, his requests were so extreme that the group began to believe that he had secretly resold their product.
“They had never seen anyone who got that kind of weight,” the 60-year-old explained.
“The only other people to whom they delivered that kind of weight were dealers. They thought I was dealing on the side.”
When Adams pressed further and asked if it was true, he smoked seven grams of crack-cocaine, Sheen did not deny it. “Well, we never got one and put it on a scale,” he said.
“But that was the amount that was cooked to get it in that form.”
He even remembered a joke that he “needed a bigger pipe,” before he acknowledged that survival of his addiction was a matter of happiness. “I was lucky that I lived,” he said.
The candid confession of the actor comes when he promotes his new memoirs, The book of SheenWhere he thinks about decades of substance abuse and the turning point that led him to austerity in 2017.
In the book Sheen credits his daughter Sami for giving the power to change.
He remembered a day that he was meant to pick her up from an appointment, but could not drive because he was not sober. A friend had to follow the steering wheel instead.
“Sam was very quiet,” Sheen wrote and noted that he did not have to be “clairvoyant” to know what was going on.
He imagined that she was wondering: “Why not drives Dad – again? Why are it not just the two in the car as it used to be? When will that moment ever return? When will Dad will ever return? I miss him.”
Now, years in austerity, Sheen reflects about those painful memories as a memories of how far he got.
