Season 30 of The voice marks Adam’s 19th season as coach. He coached for 16 consecutive seasons before leaving in May 2019 and later returning for season 27.

Speaking to the outlet about his highly anticipated return in season 27, the Sunday morning crooner said this was largely because “the stars aligned.”

“It was one of those moments where we started talking about it and it felt good… and it didn’t feel good until now,” Adam said at the time.

“If you do it that long and that consistently, almost eight or nine years of my life, you can definitely get burned,” Adam continued.

“I did it for a long time, so I started to feel like I was a little bit away from the things that matter most to me, like making music and playing music,” he added.

The news of Adam’s return comes after his contestant, Alexia Jayy, took home the season 29 trophy.
