Shiloh Jolie, daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, recently broke the internet with her cameo in K-pop sensation Dayoung’s latest video for What’s A Girl To Do.
As the clip went viral, insiders reveal that it was “bittersweet” for Pitt to see his estranged daughter’s career take off.
A source said this Closer magazine, “He loves that she’s following her own path and he’s in awe of her talent, but at the same time it’s this crushing reminder that he’s not in her life at all. She hasn’t been in touch with him to the point where he dropped his last name. It’s about as bad as it can get right now.”
“It’s been really hard for Brad to come to terms with that, honestly he really hasn’t. He and Shiloh were so close, she’s the apple of his eye and of all the kids the one who always had his back. He doesn’t understand how that bond can simply evaporate, and he doesn’t believe it does. He’s sure she still loves him and he’s confident that one day she’ll put down her armor and let him back into her life,” the source added.
He noted, “He’s ready for that moment and will wait as long as it takes, but he’s done trying to force her, he’s giving her the respect and space to make her own choices no matter how painful it is.”
Sources reveal that Brad Pitt has taken a “big step back” as he is now trying to show her that he can “respect her boundaries, even if it is incredibly difficult for him”.
The Formula 1 star is said to be aware that Shiloh is at an age where she is still figuring things out. The source said, “As much as this is about fixing things with Shiloh, it’s also about fixing things with all of his kids because he firmly believes that if she comes around and gives him another chance, it will have a ripple effect on the rest of the kids.”
“She has always been a strong personality within the family and he sees her as someone who can influence the other children in a positive way,” she added.
Brad reportedly believes his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, Shiloh’s mother, is the “big stumbling block.”
The tipster adds, “He blames her 100 percent for the estrangement between him and Shiloh, as well as all of his other children. He believes that if she stopped her interference, things would improve dramatically. However, if you ask her, she will tell you he has only himself to blame,” even though she has sworn she never did anything to turn their children against Brad.
Although the situation is said to be “complicated,” the source noted, “The fact is Shiloh, and all children are extremely protective of their mothers. If Brad really wants things to improve, he needs to find a way to settle this lawsuit, and the sooner the better.”
