The Toronto Blue Jays are dealing with another injury scare after Daulton Varsho left Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks with left knee discomfort.
According to a team announcement, Varsho left the game in the third inning after logging one at-bat and playing two innings in center field. He was replaced defensively by Myles Straw.
Manager John Schneider told reporters after the game that the problem stems from Varsho’s quad to his knee.
He added that the outfielder is being considered day-to-day and will not undergo any imaging.
Varsho was in strong form heading into the match. The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, including shoulder and hamstring issues in 2025, but still managed to hit 20 home runs in 71 appearances.
His latest setback adds to the Blue Jays’ injury concerns, with key players like George Springer, Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk already sidelined.
Toronto now hopes Varsho’s problem is minor as the team continues to manage the impact early in the season.
