Plastic surgery or facelift? John Travolta’s Cannes look sparks speculations

Hollywood star John Travolta looked unrecognizable in a cream beret, round glasses, sharp beard and black suit for his directorial debut premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

The American film legend received an honorary Palme d’Or at the festival on Friday, prior to the premiere of his directorial debut ‘Propeller One-Way Night Coach’.

“It’s actually beyond the Oscar,” said an emotional Travolta, who has been nominated twice for the prestigious award.

Hundreds of people took to social media to express their amazement at how a 72-year-old could look so young.

While some marveled at his appearance, others wondered if the “Pulp Fiction” actor has undergone plastic surgery.

“I need his plastic surgeon’s phone number,” one X user joked in response to a video of Travolta in Cannes.

Another user who couldn’t believe the actor was 72 wondered if he was actually 72 years old and if surgery was the reason he looked so young.

“Is he really 72, if so, was it surgery that made him look so good?” the user asked.

Many other users have speculated about cosmetic procedures like fillers or a facelift over the years, but John Travolta has never publicly confirmed surgery.

However, some fans were convinced that good grooming and styling clearly played a big role in Travolta’s latest appearance.

Travolta has been one of Hollywood’s most enduring stars, breaking out in the late 1970s with his disco drama “Saturday Night Fever” and the Stephen King prom-night horror film “Carrie.”

After a slump, the actor revived his career in Cannes in 1994 with Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic ‘Pulp Fiction’, after which he cemented his Hollywood star status with films such as ‘Get Shorty’, ‘Face/Off’ and ‘Hairspray’.

“It’s been a wonderful life because I get the wonderful arts of theatre, and of film and of singing and dancing and acting, and I also get the art of the air.”

The film, which will screen in the Cannes Premiere section of the festival, will be released on Apple TV on May 29.
