Paul Rudd talked about his working experience with Nick Jonas in Power Ballad.
Speak with People magazinethe actor gushed about Jonas’ acting skills.
Rudd said: “I can’t say I was surprised because I’ve seen him act, but he did things that were so subtle and very deft, the things that went on behind his eyes.”
“He would go through these dilemmas, and he doesn’t say anything, but you can read his mind. It’s such good acting, and I was just amazed at the things he did,” he added.
Furthermore, Rudd noted that he didn’t realize how good Jonas was until the film came out. “When I saw the movie, I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ There were scenes where I wasn’t there to film, and yes, he knocked me out.’”
“So not really a surprise, but I kept thinking, ‘Oh, I need to remember this.’ And he’s just cool. Like he just plays everything cool because he’s cool,” Rudd added.
According to the synopsis, Power Ballad is “a feel-good story about music, self-esteem, friendship and the price of ambition.” In the film, Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd play a famous singer and wedding band musician respectively. They came into conflict after the Jonas Brothers member stole Rudd’s idea for a song and turned it into a hit.
Power Ballad is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.
