Chelsea Handler recently opened up about her dating life and how advancing age affected it.

Handler appeared on the Thursday, March 27 episode of the IRL podcast, where she sat down with host Angie Martinez and talked about her romantic life.

As the conversation went deeper, the 51-year-old American comedian and actress revealed why she avoids building her life around a partner, despite being in a relationship with a 14-year-old younger man, who she first encountered at a Las Vegas casino.

Martinez asked if she ever felt like the age difference between them was a negative aspect of their relationship, admitting that she wasn’t ready to date someone younger than her; however, she “doesn’t really feel anything” about it.

“When I was young, twenty, thirty, I always dated older guys. Twenties, twenty years older than me. I always dated forty-year-olds when I was twenty, and fifty-year-olds when I was thirty,” This means war actress shared.

The visible change in her preferences came when she turned 40 and made the firm decision not to date 60-year-old men.

“Like, I have to turn it around and turn it around, you know? So now I’m going the opposite way because I’m too hot to date a 65-year-old. Let’s be honest,” Handler joked.

“I mean, I don’t work that hard on myself or take care of myself that much so I can’t have fun and, you know, have a good time,” said the Girls behaving badly the star confessed, stating that she prioritizes her independence.

“I like to travel a lot. I like hanging out with guys. I don’t like to get too serious. I don’t want to have someone in my space all the time,” she noted.

It is important to note that Chelsea Handler, who considers marriage an “outdated” practice, has had relationships with notable figures such as 50 Cent, Jo Koy, Ted Harbert, Dave Salmoni, Ralph Fiennes and others.
