‘Sheriff Country’s Star Maren Morris Shares Her Scary ‘Life Motto’

Maren Morris has finally revealed what convinced her to give her seal of approval to guest star in Sheriff country.

For those who don’t know, the police drama television series, which first debuted in 2025, was about Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), who “investigates criminal activity and patrols the streets of the small town of Edgewater while battling her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.”

During a conversation with PEOPLE magazine, the 36-year-old American singer-songwriter admitted that the opportunity was scary, but it helped her achieve her long-term goal.

She said, “I wanted to say yes to this opportunity because it’s something I always wanted to do but never had the right timing or opening to do so.”

“My whole motto right now is to say yes, even when I’m afraid to do so,” the Grammy winner noted.

Morris further admitted that she felt a lot of pressure to prove herself when she was offered the role Sheriff country.

She said: “I definitely had nerves going into filming. I know they know I’m new to this, but I also wanted to be prepared and know my lines and not deviate too much. It’s incredible writing, incredible dialogue.”

What especially helped her calm down was the friendly atmosphere on the set of the series.

“Thankfully, everyone here is so warm and inviting. There’s no ego, there’s no tension. Everyone’s chatting and laughing between scenes, and it’s a nice break from some of the heavier scenes,” said Maren Morris.

It is relevant to mention that Sheriff country is expected to return to CBS sometime in fall 2026.
