Jena Malone reflected on the chaotic fun she had filming the cult satire Saved!
Speaking to People Magazine, the actress also recalled a joke that infuriated production.
Malone revealed that she once “stole a school bus” during lunch breaks while filming the movie alongside Macaulay Culkin, Mandy Moore and Eva Amurri.
She said, “I remember stealing a school bus when we were on set.”
Add: “[During] During one of the lunches I stole a school bus, got the whole cast and we just drove around. I mean, production was so angry. They yelled at me, and I came back, and I honked the horn. I did all the things I probably wouldn’t do today, but I was 18. I was small.”
The Hunger Games actress also shared another behind-the-scenes prank involving Culkin, revealing that she once broke into his hotel room and turned all his furniture upside down.
“We were definitely high on jokes,” she said.
Additionally, Jena Malone said that Saved! is one of the films for which she is most recognized by fans.
She said: “I think they’re more high school movies, like the one between Saved! and Donnie Darko [that fans remember]. The people who created Saved! watched, it really made an impression on them at a certain age or whenever they came across it.”
“I get the sweetest hugs, and it’s potentially more of a cathartic fan experience,” the actress added.
