After Britney Spears’ rep dismissed claims about the singer’s erratic “outbursts” at a Los Angeles restaurant, a dinner guest has shared some details about the “crazy” incident.
Entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider told it Page six that Spears arrived at the Blue Dog Tavern restaurant with two other people on Wednesday evening and claimed that he initially did not recognize the singer because she was wearing sunglasses.
“The woman sat down and started making a lot of booming or barking noises and a lot of outbursts,” he alleged.
Sneider said he later realized it was Britney after she took off her sunglasses. He also claimed that during dinner, the singer repeatedly got up, sat down and walked around the restaurant.
He noted that she was “an absolute pain to sit next to at dinner.”
According to Sneider, at one point Spears held a knife while standing, although he made it clear that her meaning did not feel threatening or “anything like that.”
However, another guest reportedly felt uncomfortable and reportedly said, “She had a knife and came towards me. I thought she was going to stab me.”
He further noted that her companions tried to calm her down throughout the evening.
Sneider also claimed that she briefly lit a cigarette in the restaurant before staff asked her to put it out.
After reports of Britney’s behavior went viral, her publicist strongly denied claims that the singer posed any danger.
“This is completely blown out of proportion. Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard,” her rep said.
“At no time did she endanger anyone with a knife,” the statement continued. “She was cutting her hamburger in half.”
