Bella Murphy has opened up about the strict rules her father, Eddie Murphy, imposed on her upbringing.
During the last interview with People Magazine, Bella revealed that she wasn’t allowed to act professionally until she was eighteen.
According to her, the rule was intended to ensure that she and her siblings experienced a normal childhood, away from the pressures of Hollywood.
Bella said: “I always asked my dad, ‘Can I please be an extra in this movie?’ He always said ‘No’.”
“Because we have a rule in this industry that we can’t act or work until we’re 18, he really wanted me to have a normal childhood, which I’m very grateful for,” says the actor. Housemates actress added.
She further noted that her father’s protective measures made her “obsess over it even more, because I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t do it right now.’ So by the time I can do it, I want to be as prepared as possible.”
Bella Murphy also shared that her father Eddie Murphy had a “huge impact” on her desire to become an actress, saying, “I thought, ‘It’s the coolest job ever.’ I’m like, ‘I want to do that.'”
Additionally, she has also credited her older sister, Bria Murphy, with inspiring her to take up acting. “She wanted to be an actress before I did, and I did the younger sister, like, ‘I’m going to copy you,’” Bella said.
He added, “And then it worked out. It was actually what I wanted to do, so that was cool.”
While Bella stars alongside Sadie Sandler, Adam Sandler’s daughter Housematesshe admitted that she was “the biggest Adam Sandler fan ever.”
“Everyone was so proud and so happy, and so excited for me, which is great. We all love Adam Sandler movies, and we’re all obsessed with them, so they were just my number one cheerleaders with all of this,” she said.
