Maren Morris recently revealed her son, Hayes Andrew Hurd’s obsession with the Backstreet Boys.
For those who don’t know, Hayes is Maren’s only child, whom she welcomed with her ex-husband, country singer Ryan Hurd, on March 23, 2020.
During a conversation with PEOPLE magazine at the 2026 Music Will Benefit in New York City on May 7, the 36-year-old American singer-songwriter revealed that her six-year-old child is “obsessed” with the Backstreet Boys.
The famous boy band consists of five members, namely Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough.
“Backstreet Boys, he thinks they’re brand new. But I was like, no, they’ve been around since I was your age,” Maren told the outlet.
“But no, he’s obsessed,” she pointed out. Her best friend, Karina Argow, went on to say that Hayes is “starting to get to know Backstreet Boys, which is a big deal.”
When she asked about her plans to teach him music, Maren replied: “That it’s hard work, it’s fun, but there are a lot of egos involved.”
“But no, he is very sweet and he loves going out with me,” says the High women said singer.
It is pertinent to mention that Maren Morris received the Creative Dreamers Award at the 2026 Music Will event.
