Sebastian Stan is gloomy about the future of America, especially when it comes to who is in charge of the country.
He gave his speech during the Cannes festival, where he promoted the new film Fjord.
There he was asked about his opinion about his film The Apprentice.
In the film, the actor played the famous Donald Trump.
Now he’s back in the Oval Office. Stan asked a question about it.
In a somber tone, he replied, “I think we’re in a very, very bad situation. I really do.”
“And to be honest, if you look at what’s happening, that’s true.”
He continues: “When we talk about media consolidation, censorship, threats and the so-called lawsuits that seemingly never end, but actually go nowhere.”
Stan also points to Trump’s attempts to block The Apprentice before its release.
“You know, the writing was on the wall. We all encountered that in the film,” he warns.
“Three days before the festival, [we were] I’m not sure if the film would play at the festival.”
“So maybe people will pay more attention to that movie; I think it will stand the test of time for that.”
The Marvel star compared his situation at the time to that of Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.
All three went through similar controversies.
“But we all went through it, right before Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and so on. So I wish it wasn’t like that,” Stan concludes.
