Cody Simpson has shared a major health update after revealing a serious vocal cord bleed.
On his Instagram account, the 29-year-old Australian singer revealed on Tuesday that he is recovering, but that he is not out of the woods yet.
“The bleeding is gone, but there is a large damaged blood vessel at the bottom of my right vocal cord,” Cody wrote, sharing a video of himself sitting in a doctor’s office.
The Beautiful brown eyes crooner added that he requested “complete silence” for a week, after which doctors would assess whether he needed surgery.
“We’ll have another week of complete silence and pray for a miracle healing. Send me your love,” Cody wrote.
“We will then make a decision about surgery, which is a longer recovery process but also reduces the risk of further complications,” he continued
The Nice to meet you hitmaker added: “In the meantime, I don’t know yet how long this recovery journey will take and if the surgery will go ahead, but it looks likely.”
It comes just a month after Cody revealed he was forced to temporarily step away from his music career.
“Hey guys. I originally thought I could keep this private, but it’s time I share what I went through. A little over a month ago we discovered a major hemorrhage on one of my vocal cords,” he wrote at the time.
“It happened because of my overzealous singing in the studio, due to a sinus infection I didn’t know I had. I assumed it was just fatigue and kept coming to the studio until one day I couldn’t sing anymore,” he added. “I’ve been on and off vocal rest for weeks now, canceling TV and radio appearances.”
