Hayden Panettiere has shared her traumatizing experience with the birth of her daughter Kaya.
In a new interview with E! News promoting her new memoir This is me: a settlementthe 36-year-old actress revealed that she almost died from a hemorrhage while giving birth to her daughter in 2014.
“I sat there and had the C-section, and I knew I was knocking on death’s door,” Hayden told the outlet.
“But I just had the most motherly moment where I said, ‘God, please let me hear my daughter cry. I just want to know that she’s okay and if it’s my time to go, then that’s fine with me,'” she added.
According to the publication, the Heroes alum underwent seven blood transfusions to overcome an infection.
However, Hayden insisted she was willing to sacrifice herself to ensure her daughter was safe.
“I wasn’t scared at all,” the actress said.
On May 18, Hayden also opened up about her birth experience during an interview with CBS mornings.
“I had a very difficult birth, to the point where I almost didn’t survive,” the singer recalls. “And then postpartum depression started.”
“There I am with this beautiful, healthy, beautiful girl and this very happy life, and I couldn’t be happy for the life of me,” she added. “I was so depressed and I just couldn’t find the way out [of] the dark.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Hayden shares Kaya with her ex-fiance, Wladimir Klitschko.
