Kylie Minogue talks about her battle with breast cancer.
Speaking to the BBCthe 57-year-old Australian singer shared that her experience with the disease has never left her.
“Where do I even start? Shock,” Kylie said about getting her diagnosis. “You’re trying to understand something you’ve never thought about before. It’s a crash course.”
“It’s very deep and extensive and it’s still with me in many ways,” she added.
The I believe in you singer also shared her cancer journey in her new Netflix documentary, titled KYLIE. The docuseries will premiere on the streaming platform on May 20.
“I felt removed from my body,” Kylie says in the trailer. “I was so afraid of what awaited me.”
“We didn’t know if she would ever be okay,” added the singer’s sister, Dannii Minogue.
During an interview with CBS News in December 2023, the All lovers hitmaker described her cancer journey as ‘trauma’.
“It’s a trauma, and all trauma is within you,” Kylie said. “The experience of a cancer diagnosis will live on in me. It was difficult. It was also wonderful.”
“Amazing because you’re very aware of your body, of the love around you, of your abilities, of all kinds of things,” the singer added.
For those unfamiliar, Kylie was declared cancer-free in 2006.
