‘Harry Potter’ stars return to Hogwarts for shooting

Jamie and Oliver Phelps look back on ‘Harry Potter’ recordings

James and Oliver Phelps, the twins who play Fred and George Weasley Harry Potter movies, have returned to Hogwarts.

But for shooting season two of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, The Food Network Cooking Competition.

While working on the new show, Oliver recalls how the Great Hall, as it was at the time of the film’s shooting, was filled with real food to show a real party scene. However, he jokes that the smell of it wasn’t always pleasant.

“It was funny because when we were filming a day in the Great Hall, when it was just filled with people, there were so many smells,” the actor tells PEOPLE, adding, “Even now, when I watch one of those scenes, I can still smell roasted or oiled vegetables — which is not a great smell.”

He continues, “To look good at all the parties and stuff, they wanted all these turkeys and stuff. But yeah, the elements I’m thinking of are basically stinky socks.”

When shooting wasn’t happening on set, Oliver remembers having to work out in the Great Hall. “When we weren’t filming on one set, it was open. So we’d play football in the Great Hall or we’d play cricket on Privet Drive. All that kind of stuff, so the behind-the-scenes memories still come back often.”

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking premiered on November 2
